NME Awards - 'Best Event'

The votes are in, and the results were announced in last night's alcohol fuelled award ceremony. The biggest one of interets to us festival junkies was the Shockwaves NME Awards 'Best Event' category.

And the gong goes to...

Carling Weekend: Reading And Leeds Festivals

The googly eyed Lauren Laverne presented organiser Melvin Benn with the award at the Hammersmith Palais in London. It's the second year the festival has come out triumphant... reason enough to head down there this year.

We're just stumped about why the Whitstable Oyster Festival wasn't nominated...
